Travel bug

The wanderlust is hitting me hard again. The last time it did that I moved across the state. The absolute NEED to travel is in me. I think I get it from my father. I can't stay still for very long before I want to get out and experience new places. Every summer until I was 18 I traveled to someplace in the United States. I am pretty well traveled here. Some people like to say they are well traveled within the States but also some people have only been to major cities and tourist destinations. The way I was taught to travel was by backseat on a lonely stretch of back road. Not only have I been to the major places but I have been to the in between real life places. It is that experience I am missing from my life right now.

Polyvore.com

I was farting around the internet (I'm on spring break!) and I found this website where people take fashion and make digital collages inspired by colors, architecture, movies, and other things. This website is artistically inspiring, especially as a person who has an obsession with tearing things out of magazines and making collages! When I was in design school one of my favorite parts were making design boards. I loved to convey the emotion, feel and colors of a room through pictures, fabrics and textures. This website does the same thing. I chose the below pictures from the website because they are from some of my favorite movies!

Lazy Sunday and Chocolat

Easter Sunday for me and Mr. T was purely for fun, we aren't religious. I did take part in the old pagan traditions and hid eggs and made him a basket! We made huevos rancheros from scratch for breakfast and had tequila soaked fruit salad. Yum. It was a great lazy Sunday!

After breakfast we watched the movie Chocolat, which T had never seen but I have seen tons of times. I knew he would like it and he did. The movie came out in the year 2000 so it is not new but since it takes place in the 1959 french countryside it is pretty timeless. While watching it this time I was pretty struck by the costumes. The colors of what Vianne wears are so bright and luscious. This contrasts the boring costumes of the rest of the townspeople...which makes sense if you have seen the movie. I just loved the costumes, fabulous red shoes, great full skirts and pretty sweaters. I wish I could walk around dressed like that all the time!

Singer/ Songwriters

Don't you just love when you are looking around on I Tunes and you find an artist you have never heard of yet their music is awesome and speaks to you? Happened to me yesterday! I found a guy named Greg Laswell. Upon hearing a song by him Mr. T said "I need to listen to more singer/ songwriters", precisely why I love him. Mr. T is great at speaking to my soul.
