How fun that I am so obsessed with weddings at the moment and there has been a royal wedding that I can also obsess over. Even though I am not British I am still very charmed by the new Princess (or Duchess or whatever her official title is). She is so elegant, classic, and composed. Her wedding dress was STUNNING! Almost makes me wish I was getting married in a big church wedding so that I could wear something like that! I was also thinking of how similar her dress is to Grace Kelley's and I even found a picture online that compares the two. I read that Kate (nay, Catherine) did her own make-up! Wow, very brave and not something I will probably do!
Here is another wedding dress I love. Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump's daughter, got married and her dress was also said to be based on Grace Kelley's.

Love this Dress!
I haven't really started the wedding dress shopping yet (still a bit early) however I ran across this one which I LOVE! Pretty sure there is a nude camisole under there but WOW. Gorgeous. Also pretty sure it is big, big bucks. Nonetheless I think it is really beautiful. Wonder how skinny I would have to get to pull this one off?

Engagement Picture Inspiration
Mr. T and I had an amazing time yesterday taking our engagement pictures, although today I am suffering major allergies from all of the pollen surrounding us! I just HAD to have a field of yellow flowers. Anyway, I thought I would post some of my inspirations and the link to our photographers website. Jill was great and we really enjoyed her! She showed us a few of the pics on her camera and they were gorgeous so I am really anxious to see all of them in a few days.

Gorgeous wedding at our same venues
This wedding was held at our ceremony and reception sites and it is gorgeous! I hope our wedding is as beautiful! The only thing is that I don't think we are going to go with a seaside theme, but they did a great job with it! Click this link to see all of the pictures.

Picking a Wedding Venue
Mr. T and I didn't take long to pick a wedding venue. We looked at a bunch of different types of locations but none had all of the requirements we were looking for. Here were the requirements:
-Be close to the ocean but not right on the sand
-Have the ceremony and the reception in one place
-Be affordable
-Be close to hotels and things to do for our many out of town guests
-Have great customer service
-Has some style and is slightly modern. Not too modern and not too old fashioned
-Have great food
-Has nature/ natural setting
Below is a list of the places we looked (we live in San Diego County)
Carlsbad Seapointe Resort (ceremony place was next to a china link fence and railroad tracks)
Orfila Winery (not very pretty and way overpriced)
Estancia Resort and Spa (waaaaaay out of our budget, but everything else was perfect)
Scripps Seaside Forum (also perfect but out of budget)
Andaz Hotel (loved the downtown location, but not enough nature)
The Dana Hotel and Marina (super over-priced)
Then we stumbled upon the Coronado Community Center. Doesn't sound too exciting but it has everything we need and is pretty inexpensive. The only thing we had to compromise on was having our ceremony and reception in the same place. There is a lawn next to the community center but it is by a busy road, so we decided to have the ceremony at Centennial Park overlooking the San Diego skyline. We love the location and have filled out the application and are waiting on the contract!
It is very exciting to have a date and a location!

Let the wedding planning adventures begin!
Hello folks,
Well it has been quite awhile since I have blogged. Almost a year! In that time I have started my second year teaching and have gotten engaged! Wedding planning is overwhelming and I want to make sure that I have fun with it, so what I have decided to do is make every wedding planning thing that Mr. T and I do an "event" that needs pictures and blog posts! This way we document the task as a major event in our life, not just the wedding itself.
So far as part of our planning we have only looked at a few venues and I have gone to one bridal show. Here is a smattering of pictures having to do with what we have done so far.
